Geomatics engineering

Geomatics is a term for gathering, processing, storage of geographic information. In addition, it is a common term for each method and tool from data acquisition to delivery including Earth science and computers. Geomatics is a professional discipline and an applied science. As a science it involves a combined approach to the measurement, analysis, and display of spatial and other geographic data. Geomatics professionals are involved in designing, conducting and managing events relating to geography, surveying, development and planning, commerce and law. Newest satellites, laser, acoustic, and information technology are used in geomatics and the domain is rapidly diverging into new interesting areas of specializations.
