Material Science/Building materials
Materials Science includes all natural and man-made materials, their mining, properties, amalgamation, processing, classification, and development for technological applications. A complete foundation regarding the primary principles of materials development and manipulation of their properties would help in not only developing new materials with custom-made properties, but also in choosing materials for specific applications. The study of materials science has evolved into a major area at all levels in most of the organizations across the countries. Development of modern technology needs the support of new materials and birth of new materials will lead to constant development of related industries and technologies. Civil engineering is one of the fields.The appearance of new building materials not only improved the original performance of the materials, such as strength, mechanical properties but also the performance of strength, energy conservation, insulation, water-resistant, and appearance. Building materials is developing towards the quest of functional diversity, life-cycle economy and reutilizing. The change in living concepts and demand for multifarious building function, building materials will face plenty of challenges.
